Overview
This webinar will feature a discussion with Laura Lutton, chair of the Fund Research editorial committee at Morningstar. She will provide an inside look at Morningstar’s new analyst ratings for funds. In contrast to the backward-looking star ratings, the analyst ratings use qualitative measures to provide forward-looking fund ratings.
The event will be broadcast live from 2:00 to 3:00 Eastern time on Tuesday, September 25.

Laura Lutton

Morningstar
Laura Lutton is an editorial director for Morningstar's Fund Research group. She heads a team of analysts who oversee the Morningstar Stewardship Grades for funds, which evaluate individual mutual funds in five areas, including corporate culture, fund board independence, and regulatory compliance. She also serves as editor of the Stewardship Grades. In 2003, she authored and led the successful Morningstar online seminar, "5-Step Success Plan for Women Investors."
Lutton joined Morningstar's fund analyst team in 2001. Before joining Morningstar as an equity analyst in 1999, she was the Chicago bureau chief for American Banker, a daily newspaper for the financial services industry.
Lutton holds a bachelor's degree in government and international studies from Colby College and a master's degree from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.
