Director Oversight of Fund Investments: It’s Four O’Clock - Do You Know What’s in Your Portfolio?
November 17, 2011, Boston, MA
Overview
The number of regulatory areas that fund directors must consider may result in significant time being spent on a myriad of compliance matters, leaving potentially less time for a fundamental responsibility: the oversight of fund investments. In addition, as markets and portfolio investments have become increasingly complex, director oversight efforts have arguably been made more difficult. What are directors currently doing to effectively oversee fund portfolios?
Please join Deloitte and the Mutual Fund Directors Forum for an intimate roundtable discussion with a group of your peers to consider leading practices in investment oversight. We’ll discuss:
• The information directors currently consider in overseeing fund portfolios and how this information may have changed over time;
• The frequency and approach of director oversight in the investment arena, including the role of portfolio managers and others; and
• Challenges directors may face and how directors and advisers have sought to enhance the process for overseeing fund investments.
Gain new perspectives in this important area and learn from the practical experience of your fellow directors.
