On February 16, from 2:00 to 3:00PM EST,  the Forum will present a webinar featuring a discussion led by Edward Pittman, of the Dechert law firm, on the mechanics of the proxy system.  In this webinar, Mr. Pittman will outline how issuers communicate with shareholders, how votes are solicited, cast, and recorded, and the role various intermediaries play in the proxy process.  

This conversation is particularly timely as the SEC is in the process of undertaking a broad review of the entire U.S. proxy system, in an effort to determine whether it can be improved upon in order to promote greater efficiency and transparency in the system.
