The SEC and CFTC have announced that the recently formed Joint CFTC-SEC Advisory Committee on Emerging Regulatory Issues will hold its first meeting on May 24, 2010.  At the meeting, the Committee will "discuss the preliminary findings of the staffs of the CFTC and SEC related to the unusual market events of May 6."  The May 24 meeting will be webcast live via a link on the SEC's website, www.sec.gov, though the announcement omits the meeting's start time.   

The SEC and CFTC also announced that Nobel Laureate and Columbia Business School professor Joseph Stiglitz will join the Committee.
