This half-day, in-person roundtable hosted jointly by the Mutual Fund Directors Forum (MFDF) and the Independent Directors Council (IDC) will focus on assisting directors in building visionary and effective boards.

Panels will explore effective approaches to board composition and highlight tips that may help directors identify board-ready, talented candidates with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.  In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with newer fund directors who have recently joined boards, as they share their own journeys to the boardroom.

This in-person program is open to current fund independent directors/trustees.  Current independent directors can also recommend (up to two) board-ready candidates to attend the final session (3:30-5:00pm) on newer directors’ journeys to the boardroom, as well as the cocktail reception (5:00-6:00pm).

Sessions:

1:30-2:30pm - Panel Discussion: Board Composition (directors only)

2:30-3:30pm - Panel Discussion: Sourcing Diverse Candidates (directors only)

3:45-5:00pm - Interactive Discussion: My Board Journey (directors and candidates, by invitation)

5:00-6:00pm - Cocktail Reception (directors and candidates, by invitation)
