In Focus: Strategic Preparation for Director Turnover

MFDF's In Focus series is a virtual roundtable series for fund directors and CCOs. During these one-hour virtual meetings, guest experts will join us to present and then take questions and comments from directors and CCOs. These discussions are designed to be more interactive than a typical webinar, and are offered free of charge to all current fund independent directors and CCOs.
 

Join independent chairs Eve Guernsey (Lord Abbett) and Joseph Obermeyer (Voya) to discuss strategic approaches to succession planning in the boardroom. Fund boards have various considerations to weigh as they prepare for director turnover. This conversation will focus on:

1. Thoughtful timing of retirement, recruitment, and director elections;
2. Forward-looking approaches to board composition;
3. Evaluating the board, as a collective, for an appropriate mix of experience/skills to effectively govern the Fund and represent the interests of shareholders;
4. Preparation for unexpected turnover.
