Ketan Agrawal

Ketan is a Manager with 9 years of experience delivering WAM investment risk and operational transformation projects. Ketan began his post-MBA WAM career at a asset management vendor in 2012 in New York City. He then joined EY’s performance improvement advisory group in 2014. Ketan has worked on three continents including Asia, Europe, and Americas. Ketan holds a Masters of Business Administration in International Business from Brandeis University in Boston, MA. He also holds CAIA charter and is an active member of NYC and Charlotte chapters. He is a Investment Management Certificate L1 candidate.

Selected Professional Experience:

  • Global asset manager– Value assessment of entire fund range: Reviewed entire fund range (£106B) to identify potential issues relating to performance and fee per share class. As part of the Fund Range Value Assessment Ketan used reports and dashboards developed as part of our Tool to advise client on share class reclassification by comparing with industry peers
  • UK asset manager– Value for Money governance and portfolio compliance: Design EY value assessment framework using FCA’s latest regulatory policy statement PS18/14 in which FCA set out its view that the governing bodies of UK Authorized Fund Managers (AFMs) are agents acting on behalf of the investors in their funds and have a legal duty to act in the best interests of their fund investor, helping asset managers present funds to the board quarterly. Conducted value assessment of the entire fund range including UCITS, pension funds with multi-asset share classes identified for reclassification by carrying out fund performance due diligence and interviewing portfolio managers.US Private Bank: Implemented a machine learning models to classify False/ True Positive portfolio return outliers. Created automation pipeline to identify data issues
  • Global asset manager – Benchmark review: Lead a team of 7 in analyzing and improving fund offerings by tailoring share class solutions to individual clients and portfolios, and updating third-party contractual agreements and key investors information documents. Compare benchmark information from Product team, Charles River (CRD), Investment Risk team, Portfolio Managers, client facing KIID, Prospectus from firm’s website, RFPs, DDQs, Investment Mandates, identifying whether a benchmark is being used as Constraint, Target, Comparator or no Benchmark to satisfy FCA’s deadline for PS 19/4. Review the governance arrangements at the client’s ACD and provide recommendations to ensure the ACD board complied with best practice, satisfying FCA’s requirements on board’s duty to the investors. Document internal fund and product reviews on a regular basis across new, existing and legacy funds in response to FCA’s Asset Management market study regulatory framework.
