Sanjay Bharwani, Managing Director, Advisory Services, EY

Sanjay is a Managing Director in Ernst & Young’s Data & Analytics practice aligned to Wealth and Asset Management (WAM). He is an entrepreneurial leader with experience developing products and services that apply risk management, cloud computing and data science technologies for investment managers and financial institutions.

Previously, he founded and spearheaded from concept to commercialization RADiENT Analytics, an investment analytics and regulatory filings platform applying machine learning, natural language processing, artificial intelligence and cloud technologies.
Prior to RADiENT, he founded Risk Advisors Inc., a risk management consultancy where he advised financial institutions, hedge funds and private equity firms on trading, risk management and technology issues. Previously, Sanjay was the Chief Information Officer at M. Safra & Co., a $3b multi-strategy hedge fund focused on global macro and systematic trading strategies. Earlier in his career, he was Product Manager of an emerging markets debt trading systems at EXIS Consulting, a fixed income technology firm, and a subject-matter expert at Reval, a pioneering software-as-a-service risk and valuation provider acquired by ION.
In addition, he is chairperson of the Board of Trustees at Global X, a $10b+ exchange-traded fund manager recently acquired by Mirae Asset Management, and has served as a commercial reviewer focused on fintech at the National Science Foundation’s Small Business Innovation Research program.
Sanjay is a frequent speaker and panelist at financial industry events, and he has developed webinars and instructional materials with leading consulting firms and served as a guest lecturer at New York University on valuation and investing.
