Deloitte Survey Tracks Corporate Boards’ Use of AI
In a recent survey of directors representing 92 public companies and 14 private companies, Deloitte found that AI use is still maturing in corporate boardrooms. The survey found, for example, that 42% and 47% of respondents across private and public companies, respectively, reported that their companies do not expressly support AI/GenAI use in board and committee work; 25% at public companies responded that use of AI/Gen AI was permitted but no standardized tools were provided by management; and 8% at public companies responded that company-sanctioned tools were available for board/committee work. Of those surveyed, 51% at public companies and 73% at private companies stated that they do not have board-specific AI/GenAI policies. Existing AI policies commonly addressed security, confidentiality, acceptable use, and legal guidance, Deloitte reported.
