MFDF Webinar: Advancing Diversity: Fund Board Composition Considerations for 2020 and Beyond

There is ever-rising pressure on boards to diversify, ensuring that the board is composed to include varying perspectives and experiences. This webinar will discuss diversity trends among fund boards, how those boards are thinking about diversity as a matter of governance, and methods boards are using to prioritize diversity as a factor in director recruitment efforts. We will tackle this issue from three perspectives. Greg Saitz of BoardIQ will share insights from BoardIQ’s recurring survey of fund board diversity to shed light on trends in the industry. Lee Hanson will bring her expertise as a partner at Heidrick & Struggles to discuss how search firms partner with fund boards to define the key criteria for identifying board candidates, and how diversity is brought into that conversation. Jim Perna, Chair of the Homestead Funds board, will share his recent experience of managing a search to replace a long-standing director and identifying two superiorly qualified women to join the previously all-male board. Together, this panel will provide a framework for how fund boards can think about and build diversity in their boardrooms.

This webinar will broadcast live from 2:00 to 3:00 pm Eastern Time on Thursday, April 16, 2020. Register online.
