FUSE Research Highlights 2024 Net Flows Forecast, Economic Predictions

FUSE research recently released two reports highlighting predictions for fund flows and overall economic stability for 2024. The first report identifies product developments, hiring trends, emerging issues, and investor flows. FUSE predicts that in 2024, “middle-tier financial advisors will focus on liquid and semi-liquid alternative strategies” but at an allocation level of around 5%. In the ETF space, FUSE predicts 20 firms will launch ETF cousins to existing mutual funds while “SMA assets will grow by 16% in 2024, ending the year with just over $3.2T in assets.” Direct indexing is expected to continue in popularity with high-net-worth clients, reaching around $750 billion in 2024. FUSE also predicts that Bitcoin ETPs will continue to receive investor attention at around $10 billion by the end of 2024. Interestingly, FUSE predicts that mutual funds will continue to see “market share erosion” as ETFs, SMAs, and direct indexing rise in investor preference. In the second report, FUSE predicts that the Fed will have interest rates around 4.25%-4.75% while also warning of the buzz around artificial intelligence.
