SEC, CFTC Plan Roundtable on Regulatory Harmonization
On Monday, September 29 the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) plan to host a one-day roundtable discussion on regulatory harmonization efforts. Panels include a review of the history of each agency, how harmonization can unlock economic value for platforms while also protecting investors, and how harmonization efforts can increase choice for market participants and reduce costs for investors. The program will also include remarks from SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, CFTC Acting-Chairman Caroline Pham, and the three additional SEC Commissioners. This program highlights the SEC and CFTC’s relationship to work together, not only on digital assets regulation, but in other areas of financial regulation.
