Event of Interest: Brookings to Host Virtual Event with SEC Commissioner on the Future of Financial Regulation

On Thursday, December 11 at 10:00am ET, Brookings plans to host a live and streaming event titled, “The future of financial regulation with SEC Commissioner Caroline Crenshaw.” Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Caroline Crenshaw will reflect on her tenure at the SEC and discuss her views on the biggest challenges facing the agency, investors, and our markets today, as well as share some insights on the future of financial regulation. Commissioner Crenshaw’s term expired in June 2024 but she is permitted to hold her position for up to 18 months after the expiration because a successor has not been confirmed. This extension is expected to end in December 2025.
